Aisle of the Damned: 05/10/19- Some Assemblage Required

As if there could be any other movie we’re talking about this episode; Avengers: Endgame has finally landed after 10 years, and we’re going to dissect the crap out of it. But wait, they’re not the only superteam we’re taking a look at this week. The DCAU is (sort of) back with Justice League vs the Fatal Five, as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and more of DC’s top brass face baddies from the future. But wait again, we also have the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense in Hellboy, a new take on the character previously tackled by Guillermo del Toro. Lest we forget and not tell you to wait one more time, there’s even the new feature Missing Link from the cult animation studio Laika to discuss, with some wacky Bigfoot-related hi-jinx!

Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

Bryan and Kent, like most people, apparently,  have just borne witness to the glory of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, the culmination (for now) of Marvel’s long game that started with Iron Man and has continued for 18 movies. And that’s about it. Really, it’s just a long, long discussion of the movie because there’s a lot to unpack here for a couple of movie-lovin’ nerds who’ve read their share of funny books.

It’s time for the biggest superhero movie of the year. No, not that one. Thor: Ragnarok is ready to hammer its way into your heart. But that’s not all! Bryan and Kent also take a look at the latest version of Murder on the Orient Express and the Netflix release The Babysitter.

But wait! That’s not all! We also talk news about Star Wars, Creed 2, Fox and Disney rumors, and the Sony Spider-Manless-Universe. And we’re not done yet! Vinegar Syndrome’s Orgy of the Dead release tries to do right by Ed Wood!

Luc Besson is back to making French comic book sci-fi and, much like The Fifth Element, it’s incredibly divisive. What did Kent think of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets? And what did he think of the Medieval sex comedy The Little Hours with a who’s who of comedy stars?

But even before that, we look at a metric ton of San Diego Comic Con news and trailers. Prepare yourself for all of this and less on Aisle of the Damned!

In our latest episode, Kent deals with all sorts of ne’er do wells with the cannibal import Raw, the very Lovecrafty chiller The Void, the Scottish pricks of T2 Trainspotting and the deviants behind Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Then Bryan joins in for a discussion about the 8th(!) film in a series that started with a decent Point Break remake: The Fate of the Furious.

We also discuss some Marvel and Transformers news and take a look at some new trailer drops like Atomic Blonde and Thor: Ragnarok. Oh, and a little movie called Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
