Aisle of the Damned: 02/01/19- Do the Shyamalan Twist!

In this episode of AotD, Bryan and Kent will review of the follow-up to M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable and Split, the trilogy topper Glass. We think the surprise will be on them! Plus, Kent has seen Peter Jackson’s first film since the Hobbit trilogy, the much different WWI doc that Weta developed new restoration technology for: They Shall Not Grow Old. As if that wasn’t enough, they also take a look at a couple of Netflix releases; first, the Sandra Bullock-starring cultural phenomenon that let stupidity take flight, Bird Box. Then, the film that they describe as “trashy John Wick,” the Mads Mickelson comic book romp Polar. Are they worth your $10 a month?

All this, plus our usual high-class wit in the Aisle!

AotD presents Blockbasterds: 01/25/18

Kent’s carrying a grudge about Kansas City’s loss on Sunday, but that’s not getting in the way of his professionalism (or what was left of it to begin with). The Damned Boys have a lot to talk about after a huge news week that included a possible DCEU trilogy, another Ghostbusters film, and an Aladdin movie from the makers of Atlantic Rim. (Aladdin Rim?)

Plus, Bryan has some big news for blu ray, including the two words everyone wants to hear: Andy Sidaris. All this and less on Blockbasterds!

Aisle of the Damned: 01/18/19- The Perfunctory Best (and Worst) of 2018 Episode

As the year begins, we see the movie podcast critics begin their ritual driven by ancient instinct and time immemorial; naming the best and worst films of the previous year. Bryan and Kent are on that majestic journey. Let it never be said that if everyone jumped off a bridge, they wouldn’t as well. They discuss the five worst/most disappointing movies of 2018, then their 10 favorites. There are sequels both stinky and sublime. Big movies. Small movies. Movies, movies, movies, up to our ears in movies! We count ’em down! Bryan invents the word “Spielbergery” too! Join us, won’t you?

AotD presents Blockbasterds: 01/11/19

So much to talk about in the first Blockbasterds of 2019! Bryan has a winter movie recommendation to help with your crippling seasonal depression. We talk the slates for Turner Classic Movies’ Fathom Events series and the DC Animated films from Warner Bros. Plus, casting news, film announcements, a few new trailers and more. Then, we talk our recent views as Bryan has finally seen the majesty that is RAW FORCE! And Kent runs through his frantic catch-up for the Best of 2018 episode. Join us for the fun!

Aisle of the Damned: 01/04/18- I’m Mary Poppins, Ya’ll!

Here comes the new year; same as the old year. Kent and Bryan are all Christmas movied out as they tackle a four-pack of holiday releases. Kent discusses how Mary Poppins Returns stacks up against the original, while Bryan tries to decide if 90 minutes of head trauma would be preferable to Holmes and Watson. Then they both give all of their attention to the Transformers spin-off Bumblebee. What’s a Bayformer movie without the Bay? They find out. Then, you can tune a piano, but you can’t tuna fish… unless you’re Aquaman, that is. Then you can tune that fish all night long. It’s made a lot of money in China, but does DC’s latest keep it’s head above water?

All this and less as Aisle of the Damned welcomes you to 2019!

Aisle of the Damned: 12/21/18- A Marvel-Licensed X-mas

Spidey bells, Goblin smells, Vulture laid an egg...

Now I have a podcast. Ho-ho-ho.

It’s a Happy Marvelkah here at Aisle of the Damned, and our sack is filled to bursting with reviews, including the web-slinging Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse! We also talk the Deadpool 2 rerelease: Once Upon a Deadpool. Is it worth seeing again without the best bits? Fred Savage says yes! Also in theaters, The Mule is Clint Eastwood’s first on-screen appearance in six years. Was it worth the wait? Anna and the Apocalypse sings in Christmas with a zombie outbreak. Is it as whacky as it sounds? Bohemian Rhapsody takes a fictitious look at Freddie Mercury’s life and times. And we even have a couple of Netflix offerings: the coming of age film Dumplin’ and the big-budget historical epic Outlaw King. It’s everything you could want under your tree and up your chimney!

Kay Martin and Her Body Guards- I Know What You Want for Christmas

AotD presents Blockbasterds: 12/14/18

It’s our pre-Christmas episode and we wing it through a few bits of news, talk new releases and our second half of November hauls, knock out a couple of trailers and have a discussion over how one of Marvel’s best special features in years has been left completely off the Infinity War physical release in favor of digital distribution. We also talk sequels and Christmas flicks, trying to figure out what it is about Elf that’s just so darn endearing compared to so almost every other recent holiday film.

All this and less on Aisle of the Damned’s latest episode of Blockbasterds!
