AotD presents Blockbasters: 02/08/19

The Super Bowl may have stunk, but it’s sure a big week for news! Kent and Bryan have big and small bits for you to sink your teeth into. There’s more DC news (isn’t that every week?), some sequel talk, new trailers for movies about Ted Bundy, a typical Matthew McConaughey weekend, and the first Fast and Furious spin-off.

That’s not all, though. Bryan talks about the turbulent history of a truly bizarre film, Cool World (the latest addition to his collection), and the fellas discuss things they’ve been watching.

All this and less on Blockbasterds!

Aisle of the Damned: 08/11/17- Because Lionsgate, That’s Why

More like Dork Tower, amIright?

Bryan and Kent saw the big-screen adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower and both were confused by the experience, though not as much by the film. Kent, meanwhile, has seen the artiest of arthouse fare, A Ghost Story. Does the experience haunt him?

Meanwhile, the boys take advantage of a slow news week to review the Spider-Man that could have been, had Sony not handed him over to Marvel, and he takes a severe turn towards the Herbert West.

All this and less on Aisle of the Damned!

PLP – V2E2 – Comebacks Part 2

In this episode we continue our theme of Comebacks with a look at Martin Scorsese and Matthew McConaughey and their films Gangs of New York and Dallas Buyers Club.

We start off looking at Gangs of New York.  We mention our varied takes on the acting in the film, Rachel’s pet peeve in movies and why Titanic and Gilbert Grape are in this film.

We then move into Dallas Buyers Club, and first off we talk about why Eric never saw this movie…no one tells him what to do or how to feel apparently.  We again bring up the acting including an actor that Eric didn’t realize was in the film until it was nearly over.  We talk about the setting of the film, the likability of the main character and if that matters, and the overall impression that McConaughey had on us in this film.
