Aisle of the Damned: 10/12/18- Goo Mashing Together

I scream, you scream

Hello, Damned fans. Kent and Bryan are back with another episode, and this time we take a look at a couple of films in theaters right now. First, Bryan got a look at the new horror film Hell Fest. Then they both saw the not-Marvel film from Sony, Venom. (Spoiler: Spider-Man does not appear.)

They also checked out a new Netflix original from the director of Green Room, Hold the Dark. Does it live up to his previous work, or is it another example of “steaming streaming?” Listen and find out!

AotD presents Blockbasterds: 09/21/18

Welcome to the first episode of Aisle of the Damned Presents Blockbasterds, where Bryan and Kent talk news, trailers, new home video releases and what they’ve been watching outside the theater, all from the comfort of their virtual video store. (Did we mention they both used to work in one of them at some point? Unremarkable, but true!) This week, there’s some big rumors coming out of Warner Bros., but far from anything concrete. The new Predator movie had a scene get chop-pahed. (Sorry.) Oh, and we continue our luddite ways in arguing about why we prefer physical media. Join us! Or don’t, but it’s your loss.

Aisle of the Damned: 07/13/18- What’s That in Rudd Years?

Bryan and Kent are taking in the THIRD and final Marvel film of 2018 with Ant-Man and the Wasp. Only three months after the shattering events of Infinity War, are the Damned boys ready to get small? Kent also takes in a documentary about the beloved Mr. Rogers, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

Bryan also takes a look at his ten most anticipated blu ray releases announced over the last couple of weeks. An embarrassment of riches awaits on Aisle of the Damned!

Aisle of the Damned: 06/29/18- Flying Toasters

It’s a big slam-bang two-fer as Kent and Bryan tackle Incredibles 2 and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. How do they stack up? I guess you’ll just have to listen! Kent also takes a look at Hearts Beat Loud with Nick Offerman, and it has all the makings of an indie delight.

While they’re at it, they discuss the Star Wars implosion and the emergence of MoviePass competitors. Plus, they both do bad Sylvester Stallone impressions.

Tag Team, back again! This episode, the Damned crew looks at not one, but two blockbuster franchise entries with the X-Men series’ bad boy in Deadpool 2, and another kinda anti-hero getting the kid gloves treatment in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Surprise! Kent and Bryan actually disagree on these; a lot in some cases.

Meanwhile, we also take a look at yet more Star Wars news and lots of assorted odds and ends. For those interested:

Solo review at 1:13:19
Solo spoilers around 1:18:14

Aisle of the Damned: 05/04/18- Baby Geniuses 3: Infant War

Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

Bryan and Kent, like most people, apparently,  have just borne witness to the glory of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, the culmination (for now) of Marvel’s long game that started with Iron Man and has continued for 18 movies. And that’s about it. Really, it’s just a long, long discussion of the movie because there’s a lot to unpack here for a couple of movie-lovin’ nerds who’ve read their share of funny books.

So much for the February dumping ground: Marvel’s Black Panther is out and it’s made with bits of real panther, so you know it’s good. So what do Bryan and Kent think of it? Is the critical response hyperbole run amok? Meanwhile, Annihilation is in theaters and it’s largely being ignored, but should it be?

But first, there’s some discussion of Tommy Wiseau’s new project! Kevin Smith’s health! Joss Whedon’s place at Warner Bros!

Aisle of the Damned: 02/02/18- If You Don’t Listen to This Podcast, We’ll Kill This Cartoon Mascot

Greetings, Damned fans! Bryan and Kent are back with a look at a couple of askew bio-pics this week, with the Netflix original A Futile and Stupid Gesture, surrounding National Lampoon founder Doug Kenney, and the Oscar-nominated Tonya Harding film, I, Tonya.

If that wasn’t enough, they’ve got news on some potentially huge sequels, including one about a man who came to save us all: Black Dynamite. (And also something about Passion of the Christ.)
