Aisle of the Damned: 04/12/19- Clowns Doing Yoga
Holy crow! It’s time for Kent to review Disney’s new Dumbo, then the boys talk about their least favorite Disney films and the glut of remakes that the Mouse House has in the pipeline. Then they turn their attention to Jordan Peele’s sophomore film, Us. How will it fare in the inevitable comparisons to Get Out? Then, they say the magic word: Bazinga! Wait… that turns you into an annoying sitcom character. No, they’re discussing Shazam! (aka the original Captain Marvel.) Will this departure from the DCU norm get the traction it needs to transform Warner Bros.’ superhero division?

Aisle of the Damned: 01/04/18- I’m Mary Poppins, Ya’ll!
Here comes the new year; same as the old year. Kent and Bryan are all Christmas movied out as they tackle a four-pack of holiday releases. Kent discusses how Mary Poppins Returns stacks up against the original, while Bryan tries to decide if 90 minutes of head trauma would be preferable to Holmes and Watson. Then they both give all of their attention to the Transformers spin-off Bumblebee. What’s a Bayformer movie without the Bay? They find out. Then, you can tune a piano, but you can’t tuna fish… unless you’re Aquaman, that is. Then you can tune that fish all night long. It’s made a lot of money in China, but does DC’s latest keep it’s head above water?
All this and less as Aisle of the Damned welcomes you to 2019!

Aisle of the Damned: 12/07/18- A Rocky Patchwork Quilt
It’s been a few weeks, and the Damned boys are all loaded up for the holidays with new movie reviews. First, Netflix has dropped the new Coen Brothers’ anthology, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, and the film that dares to ask, what if Kurt Russell was Santa Claus, The Christmas Chronicles. There’s also the underworld-skirting thriller Widows. Finally, there are sequels galore: what’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald‘s biggest offense? We’ll tell you. Then Ralph wrecks the internet in Ralph Breaks the Internet. Then we finish up with the eighth film to feature Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa, Creed II. Who could ask for more?

AotD presents Blockbasterds: 11/30/18

Join us as they look at the mystifying world of movies while blizzards and rainstorms rage outside the confines of their respective homes. We pay our respects to the great Stan Lee, we talk found Disney films and wonder just what is the deal with that Detective Pikachu movie? Who are these people? Then it’s on to what they’ve been watching for the least few weeks, with another film in the Rambo series. Listen while you stress eat your Christmas ham early!

Has James Gunn landed on his feet after the Marvel debacle? Depends on how you look at it. We take a look at his first post-Guardians gig, and we also discuss the disc-pressing monopoly within the US that’s causing delays for some big catalog releases.
As is the norm, we also take a look at the newest trailers to be released, get an update on the newest blu ray releases and discuss what we’ve been watching (outside the theater, that is.) Catch it all in the newest episode of Blockbasterds!
*Boner alert: The second Creature of the Black Lagoon is Revenge of the Creature. Yes, I screwed up the name. -Kent

AotD presents Blockbasterds: 09/21/18
Welcome to the first episode of Aisle of the Damned Presents Blockbasterds, where Bryan and Kent talk news, trailers, new home video releases and what they’ve been watching outside the theater, all from the comfort of their virtual video store. (Did we mention they both used to work in one of them at some point? Unremarkable, but true!) This week, there’s some big rumors coming out of Warner Bros., but far from anything concrete. The new Predator movie had a scene get chop-pahed. (Sorry.) Oh, and we continue our luddite ways in arguing about why we prefer physical media. Join us! Or don’t, but it’s your loss.

Aisle of the Damend: 03/23/18- Kaiju Oprah
Tomb Raider is has been remade and it is neither a titillating Indiana Jones riff, nor a gritty survival horror with supernatural elements, but does that mean it’s bad? Plus, Kent has taken a look at Jennifer Lawrence’s turn as a ballerina-turned-Russian spy in Red Sparrow and Disney’s adaptation of the classic novel, A Wrinkle in Time.
Plus, we speculate about the news that came from Shout! Factory that they’d bought Roger Corman’s archives and what that could mean for future releases. We talk about a ton of trailers, too!
