AotD presents Blockbasterds: 10/19/18

Has James Gunn landed on his feet after the Marvel debacle? Depends on how you look at it. We take a look at his first post-Guardians gig, and we also discuss the disc-pressing monopoly within the US that’s causing delays for some big catalog releases.

As is the norm, we also take a look at the newest trailers to be released, get an update on the newest blu ray releases and discuss what we’ve been watching (outside the theater, that is.) Catch it all in the newest episode of Blockbasterds!

Aisle of the Damned: 06/15/18- Rowsdower!

Sillhouettes are Hip

This episode, we make our sad goodbyes to an iconic screen legend. We also look at Johnny Knoxville in Action Point, a bevy of actresses in Ocean’s Eight, and a guy who looks like Tom Hardy in Upgrade (which may be one of the summer’s biggest surprises.)

We also have a lot of trailers to discuss and some casting and production news, at least one piece of which makes us very unhappy Damned boys. All this and less on Aisle of the Damned!

PLP – Beer Breaks #3 – David Fincher Part 3

In this episode we conclude our look at David Fincher and his interest in the serial killer genre with a discussion on his remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. We discuss how Fincher seems less interested in the serial killer itself, how this seems like to be a “hired gun” type of a project and yet how beautiful the film is.  It is an interesting discussion on the director and how his career has matured when it comes to this type of a film.

PLP – Beer Breaks #2 – David Fincher Part 2

In this episode we continue with our theme of David Fincher and his look at serial killers with a discussion on the film Zodiac. We discuss performance, the mystery, the look of the film and how Fincher may not be as interested in serial killers as we originally thought.

PLP – Beer Breaks #1 – David Fincher Part 1

In this episode we introduce our new show that we’re calling Beer Breaks! What these series of shows will do is act as a break between the regular episodes of the Plain Label Podcast.  Each time Rachel and Eric end a theme,  we’ll release a series of Beer Breaks.  These shows will be similar to the regular shows in that we’ll have themes, and for this first series I’m joined by Sean Stangland to discuss director David Fincher and his use of the serial killer in his films: Seven, Zodiac, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  Our first episode, is our look at Seven.
