AotD presents Blockbasterds: 11/09/18

11/09/18

Kent and Bryan have a ton to discuss in this episode of Blockbasterds as movie-related news is just coming from everywhere. They even have a trailer to discuss that hasn’t been released on YouTube. (Say whaaaat?!) The boys also dig into the new Batman: The Animated Series complete series set: what’s good, what’s there, and why Amazon seems to be getting worse and worse.

Enjoy the show, won’t you?

AotD Presents: Going in Blind- Introductory Run-Down #1

I'M BLINDEDED!

It’s time for something else new, Damned fans. Kent and his friend Jared are taking over this week for a look at some movies they have not seen before. The first episode takes us about halfway through an introductory run-down of the movies they’ve watched over the last year. Everything from classics to garbage are on the table, from Ninja III: The Domination to Dragonball: Evolution to Walk Hard, and all of them are ready for dissection.

If you are interested in the rights to the Dick Ripper TV show, please contact us through official channels.

(Sorry about the party in the background.)

Aisle of the Damned: 10/26/18- Like a Knife-Wielding Gun

Mike-Elle Meyers?

Trick or treat, Damned fans! This week Bryan and Kent take a look at three films to curdle your blood. First, there’s the Indonesian action orgy that just landed on Netflix, The Night Comes for Us. Then, Kent waxes about why the 70s and the 90s are more alike than people think while discussing Bad Times at the El Royale. Then, both of the boys tackle the chronological sequel destroyer, Halloween (2018). Do you have the guts to listen?

Probably. You probably do.

Has James Gunn landed on his feet after the Marvel debacle? Depends on how you look at it. We take a look at his first post-Guardians gig, and we also discuss the disc-pressing monopoly within the US that’s causing delays for some big catalog releases.

As is the norm, we also take a look at the newest trailers to be released, get an update on the newest blu ray releases and discuss what we’ve been watching (outside the theater, that is.) Catch it all in the newest episode of Blockbasterds!

*Boner alert: The second Creature of the Black Lagoon is Revenge of the Creature. Yes, I screwed up the name. -Kent

Aisle of the Damned: 10/12/18- Goo Mashing Together

I scream, you scream

Hello, Damned fans. Kent and Bryan are back with another episode, and this time we take a look at a couple of films in theaters right now. First, Bryan got a look at the new horror film Hell Fest. Then they both saw the not-Marvel film from Sony, Venom. (Spoiler: Spider-Man does not appear.)

They also checked out a new Netflix original from the director of Green Room, Hold the Dark. Does it live up to his previous work, or is it another example of “steaming streaming?” Listen and find out!

AotD presents Blockbasterds: 10/05/18

It’s time for another episode of Blockbasterds where Bryan and Kent of Aisle of the Damned talk news, trailers, blu ray releases and more. This week, Bond 25 has yet another director, and this one’s a shocker given the history of the franchise. We also have a metric ton of trailers to take a look at, including Captain Marvel (no, not that one) and Mary Poppins Returns. Plus, Kent finally saw The Lost Boys! Will he now sing about believing while shirtless and wailing on the sax? Only time will tell!

Aisle of the Damned: 09/28/18- New & Improved

Get to da Lockah!

The Damned boys have seen lots of new movies, and they’re ready to gripe about them! The House with the Clock in Its Walls takes Eli Roth to family fare under the Amblin name. We get DC Animation’s second take on the Man of Steel’s most famous modern story with Death of Superman. Nicolas Cage gets his revenge on in the surrealistic thriller Mandy, and then both of the boys take a gander at Shane Black’s The Predator, and they aren’t sure just what the hell is going on.

AotD presents Blockbasterds: 09/21/18

Welcome to the first episode of Aisle of the Damned Presents Blockbasterds, where Bryan and Kent talk news, trailers, new home video releases and what they’ve been watching outside the theater, all from the comfort of their virtual video store. (Did we mention they both used to work in one of them at some point? Unremarkable, but true!) This week, there’s some big rumors coming out of Warner Bros., but far from anything concrete. The new Predator movie had a scene get chop-pahed. (Sorry.) Oh, and we continue our luddite ways in arguing about why we prefer physical media. Join us! Or don’t, but it’s your loss.

Take to the Camera

The Damned boys say goodbye to the one and only Bandit, Burt Reynolds, this week. They also say hello to a new format: weekly episodes which will alternate between new film reviews and… most other things. This week, we take a look at a movie about a kid and his raygun with Kin, and then Jennifer Garner does her best Frank Castle impression in Peppermint. Are they worth your time? The answer may surprise you!

Well, maybe not the whole answer.
